Tsyklon Labs Outreach for November 2015

Hello everyone! Welcome to the Tsyklon Labs Outreach for November 2015.

Since October’s update, all of our assembled TRACE oscilloscope modules have sold out and we only have two assembled BTN MASHR modules left. But don’t worry, we will be building more. We have a handful of kits of many of our 1U PLITKA tile modules as well as some kit and PCB only options for our ENERGIYA 1U Power Distribution boards. Regarding the PLITKA series, we have been working on build documents and assembling all of the build files to post online.

The first batch of CORE Eurorack modules are built and we have been setting up our screens for the last step – printing the front panels!

On the Chaos Divider and Belka & Strelka front, there are a few circuit improvements that we are putting through their paces and then ordering PCBs. Still shooting for the end of the year.

As always, many thanks for your continued interest!

Tsyklon Labs Outreach for October 2015

Hello everyone! Welcome to the Tsyklon Labs Outreach for October 2015.

With Knobcon in the rear-view mirror (literally, as it was a road trip), we have been busily assembling our first batch of 1U PLITKA tile modules. We have the following models available for sale: DISPRS (passive 4-way multiple), DIOD OR (passive 3 in/1 out Diode Logical OR), SIPHON A (passive logarithmic attenuator), SIPHON B (passive linear attenuator), and PLITKA 1 (1U 6HP black acrylic blind panel). Get your hands on them here:

The panel designs for the BTN MASHR, TRACE, and trLOGIC 1U PLITKA modules have been confirmed against the PCBs, so we are excited to start rolling them out towards the end of October. Plus, we will be uploading the build files as the modules are released, so that you can make your own if you are into DIY Synthiness.

We have the parts on hand and have started to build the first batch of CORE (passive transformer DI Eurorack module). The nice thing about building a batch of modules is that we will be able to document the build process in order to build thorough documentation for our kits. We will have pre-orders available in the webstore next week to start shipping at the end of October.

We had some great feedback on our Chaos Divider and Belka and Strelka modules at Knobcon and have decided to stagger the release of these module so that we can release the Chaos Divider and the Chaos Divider Sputnik into the wild first – then get the Belka and Strelka Fuzz module ready for release before the end of the year.

And finally, thanks to a manufacturing flub-up, we have a PILE of BAMBUK Bamboo blind panels available at half of their normal price. Instead of the grain running vertically on the panel, it runs across. They are still nice and strong, but have a little more give than the normal build. We have a variety of sizes in stock (from 2HP to 12HP), so buy them up!

Thanks again for your continued interest!

Tsyklon Labs Outreach for September 2015

Hello everyone! Welcome to the Tsyklon Labs Outreach for September 2015.

First things first. We are currently at Knobcon 2015 in Chicago, IL, USA. (http://knobcon.com/)

This is our first year here and it is very exciting to see all sorts of new gear from manufacturers big and small. We are showing off the prototypes for our Kosmodrom Eurorack modules as well as introducing everyone to our PLITKA series of 1U tile modules. Heck, we even brought our very temperamental Polivoks.

Speaking of modules, here is an update on where we are with our new modules:
– We will be adding our first batch of our PLITKA 1U modules to the webstore at the end of September. Keep an eye on our Products page (https://tsyklon.com/plitka/) for final specs on these modules.

– The CORE Passive DI Module is ready for the big show. We have ordered production PCBs and will be set up to do the screen printing on the panels over the next couple of weeks. Looking at early October to add assembled modules to the webstore with kits following soon after.

– Belka and Strelka, and Chaos Divider are both in the final stages of testing the production prototypes. Once we are satisfied that the production PCBs are 100%, we will announce the timeline for release.

Also, to celebrate Knobcon, we are having a 20% off sale at the convention. But do not fret, we are also having a sale in our webstore at http://tsyklonlabs.storenvy.com/ – knobs, finishing kits, eurorack panels – yeah, everything! Just use code knobcon2015 at checkout. Coupon code is good through Monday evening, September 14, 2015.

Thanks again for your continued interest!

Latest releases! Open Source Hardware PLITKA 1U Tiles

As we are getting ready for Knobcon 2015, there are a few modules that we thought would help show off the Kosmodrom modules. We didn’t have them, and it was easy enough to design them, so we went for it. Because we come from the DIY scene, and these are fairly simple circuits, we will be releasing these modules as fully assembled module as well as Open Source Hardware (cc by-sa) so that you can take a deeper look at the circuits and maybe find some inspiration for you own designs.

New Eurorack Modules from Kosmodrom Line

We are very excited to unveil our newest Kosmodrom Eurorack Modules. First up, we have our Flagship Clock Modulator module, CHAOS DIVIDER. CHAOS DIVIDER is a multi-divisor clock (and frequency) modulator with CV control over many parameters.

CHAOS DIVIDER

We are also proud to show off our CHAOS DIVIDER SPUTNIK. In Russian, Sputnik means Companion. It works for satellites and expander modules. The CHAOS DIVIDER SPUTNIK (CD SPUTNIK in short) is an expander module that opens up a new realm of possibilities for your CHAOS DIVIDER module.

2015 is going to be something else

And what do I mean by that? More music, more hardware, and hardware customization services. I have spent the last 18 months assembling and building (quite literally, one resistor and capacitor at a time) a Eurorack Modular Synthesizer. I will be releasing some music using that. Also, Tsyklon Labs will be venturing into musical hardware with a new line of guitar pedals, Eurorack modules, and a couple of Colour circuits. Hang on tight, it’s gonna be a fun year!

Fascination Street – Work In Progress

I hesitate to even call this a rough mix as it’s not really even mixed (notice the big, smooshy, midrangey mess of 8 guitar tracks smeared across the stereo spectrum). the vocals are bone dry, so it won’t sound any more like me at any point in the process – from here on out i’ll be tweaking a few missed notes among eq-ing some heft to it. all the vocals are doubled, which means i sang everything twice and somehow managed to do it in time and tune with the first pass – it’s not a special effect of any kind. The first synth sound you hear at the start is my old vic 20 🙂 the left-right bouncy part in the verse is two gate guitar tracks, not a synth. Enjoy!
